The Israel national rugby union team represents Israel and the Israel Rugby Union,which was formed in 1975. The team played their first international against Switzerland in June 1981 and drew 9-9. They have yet to qualify for the Rugby World Cup and in fact of the IRB memeber nations languish near the bottom of the list of 95.
Rugby Jerseys of Israel
Israel play their home games in jerseys of Navy Blue body with sky blue and Royal Blue diagonal stripes on the bottom of the sleeves and side of the shirt. The away jersey has Sky Blue body with Royal Blue and Navy Blue diagonal stripes on the bottom of the sleeves and side of the shirt. The shirt has featured in the early qualification rounds of the Rugby World Cup since 1991 but has yet to get past the first regional competition.
