The Romania national rugby union team, nicknamed The Oaks, played their first international match against the USA in 1919 losing 0-21. They are one of the stronger European teams outside of the Six Nations tournament and take part in international competitions, notably the World Cup, the European Nations Cup and the Super Cup. Rugby union in Romania is administered by the Romanian Rugby Federation.

The Oaks play their home games in strip of yellow shirts and blue shorts with red socks. The change colours are red shirts with dark blue shorts and socks. Romania have a proud record of The shirt being seen at every Rugby World Cup since the first one in 1987.
